codywan reverse bang art! pitched this as "la belle dame sans merci but make it codywan but make it cowboys?" bon appetit.
[img id: watercolour painting of obi-wan kenobi and cody from star wars, inspired by la belle dame sans merci. obi-wan, on the left, is on horseback, leaning down out of the saddle with his face in right facing profile with the horse mostly out of frame. obi-wan is wearing a light tan cowboy hat, a light blue button down shirt, a tan vest and tan chaps. cody, right, is standing alongside obi-wan’s horse and looking up at him, his face turned mostly towards the viewer. cody is wearing a light yellow western shirt with a darker yellow yoke, a blue neckerchief, and an orange vest with brown and red motifs inspired by navajo weaving. his pale tan hat is hanging behind his shoulders. behind the two figures is a green field and distant trees, with tall snow capped mountains in the background. the golden light on the mountains and hint of pink at the bottom of the blue sky hint at the sun beginning to set.]

Summary:
Cody just wants to get through one last summer on the ranch before he calls it quits and leaves the country. Obi-Wan just needs some money and a ranch desperate for new hands on their drive is the perfect answer. Neither of them are staying in Texas for long, and neither of them need to be getting feelings for anyone else.
Too bad it doesn't work like that, huh?
