Stay Over [ao3]

Cody quietly let himself into the apartment. It was late here on Coruscant, and even in the Jedi Temple, most beings were asleep in their beds. After his long flight from Mandalore, Cody was looking forward to bed himself. He navigated easily to the bedroom door by memory, not bothering with the lights. In the doorway, he paused, and pulled off his helmet. Even in the dim light, he could see Rex curled in with Obi-Wan, and smiled, glad that they’d had one another while he was away.

Being as close to silent as he could, Cody set down his helmet and began to strip out of his armour. He nearly managed not to make any noise, but even so he wasn’t terribly surprised when he looked up to find Rex watching him sleepily.

“I can find another bunk,” Rex offered, voice low and gravelly with sleep. Cody felt his brow wrinkle slightly - he’d thought Obi-Wan was going to be asking Rex to permanently move in with them.

“No need,” Cody said quietly. “Stay here. You always have a place here, with us.” Rex have a sleepy smile, and Cody finished stripping. He debated going to shower, but he wasn’t dirty, and he was tired. So tired. And his two favourite people looked so warm and comfortable in the bed. “Budge up a bit,” he directed.

Rex nodded, shifting so he lay on his back with Obi-Wan almost entirely draped over him. Cody pressed himself against their sides, kissing Obi-Wan’s shoulder, then Rex’s warm mouth. Rex kissed back slow and sleepy, wrapping his arm around Cody to urge him closer. Cody acceded happily, one hand roving over Obi-Wan’s sleep-warm skin even as he kissed Rex, his other arm propping his head and shoulders up so he could lean close to his lovers.

“Mmm, Cody?” Obi-Wan asked sleepily.

“Yeah cyar’ika, I’m home,” Cody gasped out, ducking his head to kiss Obi-Wan’s shoulder again.

“Mmm, ‘s nice,” Obi-Wan mumbled, and promptly went back to sleep. Rex tried to keep from laughing, but couldn’t quite stop himself, only barely keeping himself quiet as he shook with silent amusement. Cody let out a soft snort of his own.

“Guess I wore him out,” Rex said amidst his laughter, and Cody shook his head, feeling inexpressibly fond. Rex smiled up at Cody when he calmed down, gently reaching out to trace along Cody’s cheek, then his jaw and throat. “You look worn out too. Rest.” Cody leaned down for one last kiss, then nestled his head on Rex’s broad shoulder, and slept.
