scum and villainy

Obi-Wan grimaced, tugging at his sleeves, then sighed and gave it up as a bad job. The uniform simply wasn't tailored to his body, and the close fit wasn't nearly so forgiving as the layers of Jedi tunics he favoured. He pulled a face at his reflection, then fussed with his hair, cut to regulation length for this mission, for a moment before a knock sounded at the door.

"Coming," Obi-Wan called, and then crossed the room, grabbing up the grey uniform cover and a pack as he went. The door swished open at his command, and before him stood his dear Commander, dressed in the sloppy leathers Obi-Wan had used to impersonate Rako Hardeen.

And then there had been that whole business with Fives, and Rex had said Fives believed that the chips weren't really to control aggression, but to control them. Cody had read the report Rex filed, and then he'd buried it, because it seemed ludicrous. He couldn't imagine then, that he might ever betray his Jedi. And in the moment - it hadn't felt like betrayal. The moment the order had been given, it seemed reasonable. Logical.

Cody both enacts Order 66 and prevents its widespread dissemination, and the end of the war shakes out just a little bit different. A little bit better.
