He smiled, softly, and turned to go. She jerked forward, before he could take a step, and, without thinking, wrapped both arms around him. His robes were warm and soft under her cheek; they smelled faintly of blaster char.
Padmé had not intended to embrace him. But she’d felt… alone, since she woke up with her memories all wrong. It was a heady relief to have someone else who knew, to have help and assistance, not in hidden half-measures. She said, cheek against his shoulder, eyes stinging, “Thank you, Obi-Wan.”
For a beat, he did not move, and then he curved one arm around her back, a hesitant embrace.
