wrennettegiven deviantart's announcement [here] that to protect your artwork there from being used in ai datasets, you need to individually edit each piece to check an opt-out ticky-box, and evidently that doesn't prevent your artwork from being used in the new art ai da is rolling out themselves, i'm deleting my account there. i don't care enough about da, and have never cultivated my presence there enough that i think it's worthwhile to individually edit all 172 pieces i have uploaded there.
granted, i haven't uploaded anything there in over a year, and mostly depend on tumblr to host my artwork these days, but it's the end of an era. i've had my wrennette handle there for 14 years according to my account info, and that replaced an older account i'd forgotten my sign-in for (which i obviously can't delete, since i doubt i still have the credentials for whatever email address high-school me used to sign up for that first account).
