Haja looked at the little girl he'd been entrusted with and swallowed thickly. He knew he'd helped many, over the years, find their way to the path. But somehow this seemed more immediate. The danger was certainly a factor in that, as was the potential reward - the girl was, after all, a princess of a wealthy coreworld. And yet more than the bounty on his own head, his mind kept returning to Obi-Wan's serious, entreating face.
Good enough, Obi-Wan had labelled Haja, and for years, Haja had been, along with all the other, less salutary things Obi-Wan had called him, including conman and thief. But good enough had come with Obi-Wan's trust, his faith that Haja would do the right thing and ensure Leia was safely returned to Alderaan. Haja found his shoulders and spine straightening a bit, his fear not less, but less important. Good enough might seem like faint praise, but Haja would do his best to live up to it, and more. He would ensure Leia safely reached home, the faith Obi-Wan had placed in Haja bolstering him. After-
Well. His business on Daiyu was scuttled. But the path would always need guides to show the way.
