every once in a while in this city, the sunlight hits just so off glass and steel, and my heart breaks a little over how beautiful life is. and then the light changes, and they're just buildings again, and i'm still crammed in between a fat lady with a screaming baby and a possibly crazy person on the subway. still, it was a beautiful sunset over the east river on my way into manhattan earlier tonight.
i wanted a five guys burger and cajun fries for dinner, but i always misplace the branch in the west village, and i didn't feel like going down into soho. so i got nachos at the bar instead. not nearly as tasty, but i'll probably be back there within the next few days. i ended up at my fave red sox bar, obviously, where the bartender knew my face from before, and now knows my name. which is always a good thing. especially when he has good looking friends.
there were a couple yankees fans in the house, being douchebags (no surprise), but they left before the end when it started going the red sox way (again, no surprise). not quite pleased with beckett (and i polished my boots too!), but all's well that ends well and so on. overall, i rather like that start to the season. a w is a w.
