for the jedi june prompt of restraint/discipline. it takes a lot of practice and control to wield a lightsaber. featuring luminara, obi-wan, and depa, our masters of soresu.

This is a very lovely style! I am not familiar with these SW characters, but I *do* like this watercolor-on-textured paper look and the repeated shape of arms/lightsabers/legs. (And the differences of the hand positions -which, if I knew this canon, I'd know the meaning- :D Because I'd lay money there is a meaning.)

thank you! and it's not just the look - it actually is watercolour on textured paper. i've been doing mostly analogue fanart recently, then scanning it to share. it's really nice to have a physical result i can look at and say "i made that!"

as to the differences in hand position - that's how they were posed in the references i found, but i'm sure you could assign deeper meaning based on the characters. the jedi in front, luminara, is very calm and serene, and i feel like the horizontal hand could signify that she lets the force move through and around her, guiding her actions. the middle jedi is obi-wan, who is very snarky, and his two fingers extended post often looks a bit like he's taunting his opponent, which is very on brand for him. the jedi in back is depa, and she values questions and teaching, and i'm not sure how her vertical hand plays into that, but i could probably bullshit something if i thought about it a little longer lol.
